Ecology and environment are on going challenges, with which the VCP deals effectively. Particular attention is being paid to the loading and processing of coal to ensure that coal dust does not spread beyond the port territory and adversely affect the environment, as is often the case in other ports.
The sprinkling technologies for containg the dust during loading operations, as well as moistening the storage areas, is a major coal dust inhibitor, for which VCP is proud of. Additionally, a procedure is strictly followed for dust prone cargos to keep the distance between the dicharging bucket and the surface to a maximum of one meter.
April 20, 2013 in Ventspils held a tree planting event. This event was attended by more than 60 employees of our Organization who have come together with their families. It was planted about 100 pyramidal oaks.
