European Union neighborhood and Partnership Instrument Air Quality Management Project (Air Quality Governance in the ENPI East Countries AIR-Q-GOV) framework. A / S "Ventspils Commercial Port" hereafter – VTO, in 2014. On 12th June shared with the international participants of the project to the company's successful experience in environmental issues. The project was attended by twenty Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine state and local environmental authorities, and SIA "Estonian, Latvian & Lithuanian Environment “ representatives.
The project participants were visiting environmental institutions, such as the Latvian Environmental protection and regional development, Latvia’s state SIA „ Latvijas Vides ģeoloģijas un meteoroloģijas centrs” Ventspils City Council, the State Environmental service Ventspils regional environmental board and as well company A/S „VENTSPILS TIRDZNIECĪBAS OSTA”.
To the Environmental scientists were shown area of the company and tells them about the VTO operation mode of freight, handling and coal handling technology. Experts were introduced to the VTO environmental issues and concerns relevant to the solutions that has been done and what steps and processes the company plans to bring in order to minimize environmental impact in the future. After the tour, environmental specialists were invited to the presentation, where was told about the VTO significant environmental improvements. What does these environmental improvements give to Ventspils and the general public. It was a prophecy about the coming VTO objectives of sustainable development and the environment.
